Past few years working with labels like BPitch or !K7, he prepares now his first EP.
As a Toulouse' s Radio Campus dj for "Le Verre De Terre" radioshow, he's also behind
a project called "microqlima" pointing on refreshing the electronic scene in this beautiful
city of Toulouse, also with "La Régulière", monthly parties in the same city.
Members and activist from Le Cabanon, Cracki Records & les Siestes Electroniques,
he's that kind of interactive dude who push things forward.

or inventive trio called Triton, Don Da None is a MC who push up lyrics to a more
"poetic" dimension, a real writen-meaning , spelling a rhyme like a movie.

First, to welcome my homie from Singapore, Dean aka Funk Bast*rd representing collective
Cosa Nostra and his own label Darker Than Wax, this week in France, here is a brilliant mix
from the sexy-soulful-dj from including rarities, unreleased beats and own productions, and
second, he will play with Soulist & Freeworker @ What the Favela Chic, this thursday in
Paris; check below for more informations. Please be there to support my dear friend & great dj !

Funk Bast*rd has been slicing through dance floors with his blend of deep house, jazz, hip-hop, soul,
funk, dub and everything elsein between. His unique sets have taken him numerously around the club
circuit and has played alongsidethe likes of Recloose, Yukihiro Fukutomi, Nik Weston, Russ Dewbury
at the JAZZROOMS, Jazzanova, Gerd Janson,Souleance, Jamie XX, Dam Funk and many others.
And together with his saxophonist / production partner in crime, Kaye, they have rocked dance
floors in Australia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and London in all sorts of settings : from outdoor
festivals to the smallest undergroundclubbing space. Most recently, their live outfit,Cosa Nostra
perfomed in Gilles Peterson's WorldwideFestival in Singapore last year.

On the production tip, their Cosa Nostra productions and notorious edits have been played on
the airwaves around the globe onvarious quality radio shows, and their remix of Kira Neris on
Faces Records out of France recently clinched the best seller spot on Bagpak online record store.
Now with his newly formed label Darker Than Wax receiving strong feedback and recognition,
things look set to shape up in a big way.

True exeption straight out the French House Music scene, Ex-Leader of “KOJAK” band,
Dj, Remixer, sound engeneer, Dj Vas is considered as one of the most important French
artist from the early 2000 French Touch years. Started his career as a Hip Hop Dj, and
feeded with soul & funk music, he only focused on finding the good link between all
electronic waves.
From Gil Scott Heron to The Revenge, through the darkest early 80’s Space Disco productions,
Vas always have a large musical vision, and enjoy to combinate styles to find the perfect balance.
When French Touch 1.0 was exploding, his group Kojak was one of the 4 most popular bands in
France along with Daft Punk, Cassius and Air.
With their two albums « CRIME IN THE CITY » et « EVERY ROOM ON EVERY FLOOR »
out on Universal Barclay and respectively sold from 95 000 to 70 000 ex, the band erase all musical
frontieers between genres, and brings back house, hip hop, pop & soul to the front.

Back in Spain, Zaragoza, with Chelis from LO FI Funk,
and Robotdiscos Record Shop. A talented Dj & Record label boss,
crazy as hell joker, but sweet as an angel! Another Skwee Homie connected to
dod pop records, Harmonia & Beats & Faces.

If you are one of those people who likes unconventional electronic music,
you sniff out any piece that falls outside of the parameters established by
radio formulas, if you detested the phenomenon of minimal techno and you
are definitely a musically restless soul, then Chelis could be your father.
This DJ based in Zaragoza, the windiest city in Spain, is one of the
inescapable reference points for understanding the moment brewing on the
breakz & beatz scene in continental Europe, and which below the Pyrenees is
drawing together a large family of lovers of bass, beats of the future, the
hip hop spectrum, and IDM. Chelis is a pioneer; he forms a part of the
first generation of this lineage.

Zaragoza, a city that is especially peculiar as far as music goes, saw
Chelis start out as a DJ at the end of the 90s. Self-taught in technique
and visceral in his selections, this passion for the job led him to enter
into other branches of the musical world. A record businessman with his
shop Robot Discos (which now only exists in digital version); a party
promoter with a list of names behind him that many programmers of big clubs
today would like to have; and a manager of labels, first with the Kontakte
experiment, and now heading up the company Lo Fi Funk. Getting into trouble
like opening a shop dedicated to the physical format, or setting up a
musical label that places its bets on plastic –messes that at times he
has had to abandon– show the same passion for risk that you can see in
his sets, where the premise is “and why shouldn’t this go here?” This
finely-tuned intuition, the confidence of someone who knows himself to be a
good improviser, and a set of balls that he shows in everything that he
does have made him the winner of the recent Spanish eliminatory contest Red
Bull Thr3Style.

Craig Gallacher / Grampian Mountains

Glasgow based artist's Craig Gallacher aka dj Point To C;
gives a direct punch into that too much recycled "cosmic trip" design,
inspired by Sun Ra and many other jazz fusion cover arts. I used to love
that at the beginning when Serrato, Flylo, Warp and many other
bring it back...but now everybody does it like faded copies....

Gallacher is into that vintage, and sci fi vision of design, but
more near La Bocca (DC Recordings), and never "cliché".
His 60ies/70ies stylish flyers reminds me the jazz' golden ages.
Still using his own style.

Since Glasgow's Parties @ Ivy Bar, Sub Club's "How's Your Party",
Mr Hood or his own mixtapes' record sleeves, I follow this talented
homie carefuly, because he deserves to be upstairs.

Une atmosphère sensuelle et des références-déclarations d’amour au funk,
à la soul et au hip-hop… la première sortie de Baron Retif & Concepcion Perez (soit BR&CP)
vise ouvertement le même public que le récent Glamoure dévoilé par Fulgeance.
Et, surprise, c’est à nouveau chez Musique Large que ça se passe. Armé d’une batterie,
d’un clavier et d’une forte attirance pour la pratique de l’over-dub, le duo arrive à ses fins

Dj Synflood is one of the man who really inspired me
and feed my record bags since 6years. His selections
are masterpieces always including the last new shiet
from your favorite producer.
I always wanted to put a regular guest mix, and djs/blogs
like Mondayjazz, Michel Rutten,Trueradio, Yes Yes Yall,
Low Riders really push me up to go for it. Thanks for that.

Influenced by the "Hardcore Continuum" DJ Synflood is following the
London bass sound since the early 90's. Furthermore he is a true funk &
soul lover, which reflects in his various podcast issues he did since 2002.
He's also a beat maker who is making music with gadgets like Nintendo-DS
and various phones as Midi-controllers in a true knee-jerk style.
Having played in various off-locations in Berlin he is know
concentrating on a regular spot in a not yet to be named warehouse.

I was really honored when SYNFLOOD came to me "sayin" I follow
ML blog since a year, and I would love to contribute", now its time

So, to start this new year, here we come again to bounce the musical landscape
with URAKI RIDDIM and his "Midnight Blue" mix.A late night mix of music,
old and new, hiphop to techno, skweee to broken beat. Mixed 100% on original vinyl
using 2x technics 1200s and a Vestax PCV 275 mixer.
Uraki Riddim is Alexander Horne. A Scottish DJ, graphic designer
and contributor to magazines such as Vice and Resident Advisor who
runs DO IT! events in Aberdeen and Oslo. Raised on a staple diet of house,
techno and hip hop in Aberdeen. DJ sets disperse and serve up an original
Scotch Broth blend of hip hop and electronic jams.

"DO IT! collective, originally began in Aberdeen, Scotland in 2008 as an
audio visual project by graphic designer Alexander Horne (DJ Uraki Riddim)
and visual artist Jon Reid (MOC). Inspired by living in Barcelona for two years
amidst some of Europe's best street artists and a do it yourself ethic which combined
live beats, graff and visuals, Horne aimed at kick starting a similar culture in collaboration
with Reid, another local dj, Jonathon Brown, and graphic designer Siobhan Ogg"

"I think that music is epic, that's why i write my cosmovast.com blog which leads
to my parties, here in Vilnius. There are no styles, just music, a good music.

Fulgeance is a modern day master of the MPC, wrenching twisted funk and snapping
post-boombap from its pads. Like a lot of his peers, he took Detroit hip hop as a gateway
towards more electronic sounds, but he also has a deep understanding of decidedly
European strands of analogue electronics from Moroder to Bernard Fevre.
Plus, there's his penchant for live performance and showmanship that proves him
quite the opposite of a bedroom producer. Working not only as Fulgeance, but also

Ok so this one is goin to be a weird one as I like. Ben Butler & Mousepad,
crazy duet recently signed on LOAF Records (UK), is the kind of musician
I'm listenning to this days. Between post-synth-punk-funk and pure analog bla bla bla...
Ehehheheh, I don't like that, and you know it !...so please judge by yourself, but just
listenning to that huge Weather Report track in the intro, sampled by O Boogie
for the great track "Paperchaser", I was amazed and ready to hear more crazyness
from that buddies!

Ben Butler & Mousepad is the brain child of Joe Howe (Gay Against You, Germlin, Joemus),
exectuted with friend and co-conspirator, Bastian Hagedorn (GTUK). They work between
Edinburgh and Berlin.
Taking as much inspiration from Progressive Rock's excesses as from the clean, crisp "whoomp"
of the Scandinavian club scene, BB&MP is an electronic mess, teetering on the edge of disaster,
reigned in quickly by a persistent pummelling beat or lightning-fast arpeggio.
When things slow down, there is room for more consideration - analog wobble and warmth,
weird chords and byzantine structures, all shot through with enthuisiasm and clumsy energy.
Like their previous projects, BB&MP is an unpredictable, fun and musically dense project,
both live and on record.
